Junior Cricket

Learn to Play Cricket!

Meraloma Junior Cricket is looking for enthusiastic boys and girls who want to learn how to play cricket, as well as those who already have some experience but want to improve their skills.

The Junior Cricket season runs from late April until the end of July, with weekly games and practices. Hardball continues through August.

Mini Cricket

Our Mini Cricket program is the only program in Vancouver aimed at the youngest cricketers. Mini cricket is played with a plastic bat and ball for 5-8 year-olds who want to learn the game. The Minis practice together on Wednesday nights at Connaught Park. Practices are full of fun, skills-based activities to introduce the basics of cricket. Internal games on Saturday mornings give everyone the opportunity to put those skills into practice in a fun, non-competitive atmosphere.

Kanga Cricket (U11)

Our Kanga Cricket program is for boys and girls aged 8-10 years. Kanga Cricket is played with a plastic bat and ball. Both experienced and new players are welcome! All Kanga players practice together on Wednesday nights. Games are on Saturday mornings against other teams from Metro Vancouver.

Hardball Cricket (U14 and U17)

The Hardball Cricket program is for 12-17 year-olds (some players are ready earlier). The Meraloma Club competes in the BCMCL U14 and U17 divisions, which are the first levels of cricket involving wooden bats and leather cricket balls. U14 practices are on Monday and Wednesday evenings and U17s are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Training will involve fielding, bowling and batting. Games are on Saturday or Sunday against other teams from Metro Vancouver, including Surrey.
