Helping our club run smoothly

It takes a village.. (and no, not the cricket)

We all need to do our part to help keep Meraloma Cricket Club what it is today. That could include supporting other teams at the club, turning up to practice or simply having a beer at the club bar. Outlined below though are a few of our must do’s to help the club be successful.

  1. #getaroundem - support and respect your fellow team and club mates!

  2. Pay your dues (more information below on this)

  3. Complete your umpiring assignment! It is required that all senior men members perform one Meraloma umpiring assignment during the season. Umpiring assignments will be assigned to players by the elected umpiring coordinator. If the player is unavailable for their umpiring assignment, it is their responsibility to work with the coordinator to either swap assignments or organize a replacement (this typically involves paying another member to complete the assignment). The club is fined for missed umpiring assignments and players who are unresponsive or do not make their assignments will be asked to explain their reasons to the committee.

Dues for 2024

The full playing member early bird rate is only applicable for those who pay their full dues on or before the early bird rate cut-off date. The early bird rate will not apply to members who only make a partial dues payment on or before the early bird cut-off date.

The 2024 early bird cut-off date is the end of the second week (Tuesday 7th May) of the BCMCL season. Players who pay their dues after the early bird cutoff date owe the full regular playing amount.

Introductory and Half Season Member Rates

This membership is only available to new players invited to join the club or existing members if it is likely six (6) games or less will be played.

Once more than six games are played, full season dues (balance of $500) are owed to the club.
This membership must be approved by the club president (president@meralomacricket.com) or treasurer

(treasurer@meralomacricket.com).

Players who pay full season rates and play six or less games, may be entitled to a partial dues credit for the following season on approval from the club president or treasurer.

Failure to Pay Dues

Members with an outstanding dues balance owing at the end of the season will not be available for selection in the following season until the outstanding balance is paid.

A list of players with an outstanding balance will be shared with the committee and the captains at the start of the season.

Due Dates and Selection

Members who have not paid at least part of their full dues balance by the end of week 2 (Tuesday 7th May) of the BCMCL season will not be considered for selection from week 3.

These members will again be available for selection once their full dues balance payment is made. Part payment plans can be agreed with the President or Treasurer, however unless agreed, it is expected that full membership payments are made.

Financial Hardship

Players who may be experiencing financial hardship are encouraged to talk with either the club president or treasurer as deferral, payment plans and alternate options can be discussed.

Players who may be experiencing financial hardship, but don’t discuss with the club, will owe full dues and could have their names added to the outstanding dues list at the end of the season.
