(Re)introducing Sam Noster, our new Meraloma Cricket Club Head Coach for 2025!
"I'm excited to step into the role of Head Coach for Meraloma as we approach the 2025 season. Since moving to Vancouver in 2018 and joining the club as a player, I’ve experienced firsthand the passion for cricket within both the club and the wider community. With the sport continuing to grow in North America, I’m eager to share my experience and knowledge to support that growth and help drive the club forward."
Background: NZ u19s, Previous Captain for Burnside West Premier Club Mens Team, Canterbury A and Wellington A team. Canterbury and Wellington (first class) squad member. NZ Cricket Level 2 Coach.
Loves: Hitting balls (cricket + golf), music, concerts, morning coffee, seeing people succeed especially after working hard.
Hates: When umpires don’t give batsman the doubt, Canadian roundabouts, olives, missing 3 foot putts.
Sam’s Key Roles this Season:
- Help maintain and promote great community and culture within the club.
- provide opportunities for players to learn and enhance their skillsets via facilitating structured practise sessions.
- mentor and guide youth/junior players into adult cricket through development and opportunities.
- implement preseason and in season fitness sessions and educate the importance of movement preparation and general fitness.
- educate players on how to implement strategies and individual game plans.
- Create a winning and enjoyable environment for all players.
